Anne Holtrop

Anne Holtrop is an architect who studied in Amsterdam and founded his practice in 2009. Since 2014, he has been based in Muharraq, Bahrain. His work explores the relationship between material and space, shaped by environmental conditions such as climate.
He is currently a titular professor at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio in Switzerland, and previously taught at ETH Zurich and the Rietveld Academy. His achievements include the Charlotte Köhler Prize (2007), the Iakov Chernikhov International Prize (2016), and the Aga Khan Award (2020).
His notable projects include Museum Fort Vechten, the Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2015, the Green Corner Building, and Siyadi Pearl Museum. The studio has also designed Maison Margiela stores worldwide and continues work on the Misk Art Institute in Riyadh.
