Established in 2004 by Siriyot Chaiamnuay and Arisara Chaktranon, Onion’s practice ranges are so diverse and cover a variety of scales, from a pathway design on an existing skywalk to exhibition designs, interior design of a music recording company and art gallery, architectural design for houses, resorts and hotels, and even art installations. The strength of Onion design is in their extensive experiments whether in material choices and configuration of the materials, patterns or forms towards the architectural outcomes. Running by a group of friends and young staff, they practice are so vibrant and energetic, yet their works are serene, a contrast which yields satisfactory results.
สำนักงานออกแบบ Onion เริ่มก่อตั้งในปี พ.ศ. 2547 โดย ศิริยศ ชัยอำนวย และ อริศรา จักรธรานนท์ รวมถึงทีมงานสถาปนิกหนุ่มสาวไฟแรงอีกหลายคน ผลงานออกแบบของ Onion มีหลากหลายประเภท ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการออกแบบทางเดินชั่วคราวบนทางลอยฟ้าบริเวณสี่แยกปทุมวัน การออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมภายในของสำนักงานอัดเสียง ห้องแสดงศิลปะ หรือร้านค้า ตลอดจนงานออกแบบบ้าน โรงแรมต่างอากาศ และ การติดตั้งงานศิลปะจัดวางในพื้นที่โถงในอาคารสาธารณะ จุดแข็งของ Onion คือการเน้นใช้กระบวนการทดลองต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในเรื่องของวัสดุ หรือการก่อรูป ในกระบวนการการออกแบบอย่างต่อเนื่องและชัดเจน ทำให้ได้ผลลัพท์ที่มีเอกลักษณ์พิเศษ
